?Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion.? Amos 5:8
It was early in the morning when I woke ? just half past three. My heart was o?erwhelmed with burdens that were troubling me. I wasn?t ready yet to face appointments I must keep, And so in darkness I prayed for one more hour of sleep. But sometimes God says no, and sleep escaped my weary eyes. It seemed I heard Him speak to me : ?My child, it?s time to rise; You?ve asked for guidance, and I?m here in answer to your plea. When will you be available to spend some time with Me?? ?O Lord?, I said, ? I thank You for this hour You?ve come to spend!? And so I rose to talk with Him, my never-failing Friend. I knelt before the picture window, seeking God?s reply ? And then I saw it ? His great token gleaming in the sky! In all its spacious splendor, to my view Orion shone. I felt that God was watching me from His celestial throne.. I?ve seen Orion often, even in the darkest skies, But never had it seemed so bright! It took me by surprise. Its radiance forced my viewing, and I knew ?thwas meant to be; My God had something special that He wanted me to see. With eyes wide open, watching, all my cares from me were torn. Hot tears rolled down my cheeks as all alone I prayed that morn. God?s constellation filled the sky; His goodness filled my soul. And peace unspeakable replaced my doubts and made me whole. I?ve learned that in the darkness, e?er my busy hours start, Those blessings that He promises He?ll faithfully impart. Our God who made Orion makes our cup to overflow. He has so many blessings that He?s waiting to bestow! But we must give Him time to speak, so let us meet Him there Each morning by appointment, in our quiet place of prayer.
